Congrats on your pregnancy! I agree with you as well! Waking up feeling great and having your stomach feel great is above all my reason for doing it in the first place and doing it again during other months. I want that relaxation too but not at the cost of my next day! It’s so crazy to really see how your body reacts to it. Thank you again for commenting and please stay in touch! 🙂

I recently completed my second dry January too and agree with everything you said. I had even cut out gluten to try and improve symptoms with my stomach.

Your description of the relaxation halo is exactly what I crave when I think of having a drink. However having realised the dramatic improvement in my health, which I spend so much time working on, I found it so easy to turn down drinking, especially midweek.

At the end of January I discovered I was pregnant, so now I have an extended dry period ahead. I always thought it would be one of the hardest parts of pregnancy, 9 months without a drink! But now I’m relishing waking up and feeling great evey day.

I don’t plan on giving it up long term either, but it’s great learning how to have fun and be comfortable without alcohol. The added bonus is waking up with a clear head and feeling well rested every day, without fail!
